One wonders if the potential softening of the Government's position on development of Rosebank and/or Jackdaw is due to threat of action against them using (secretive) ISDS mechanisms under the Energy Charter Treaty’s (ECT) sunset clause, most likely by Equinor.

so, keep importing gas from Europe and LNG from US. I think main reason to oppose drilling is the message it sends, apart from that think having our own source is probably better for the environment (and maybe the economy). We need to focus more on reducing our gas consumption, and that costs.

It’s going to be a bigger decision for him than he probably wants. Not only does it look like a terrible error with all the evidence but it shows he’s not governing for people almost immediately.
