It's common to hear arguments that US markets are so large they have no obvious alternatives, implying they won't fall very much. Does this argument make sense? I demonstrate the answer with reference to US bonds. The same holds for stocks and the Dollar, by the way. www.jandehn.com/post/is-ther...

jandehn.comIs there safety in the US Treasuries trap? There is no immediate and certainly no obvious alternative to the US Treasury market. Should this fact make you feel safe owning the bonds?

Not a 40 TRILLION $$$$ debt. If Trump keeps up with his tariff games the USD will no longer be veiwed as the best reserve currency in the world. We are already seeing countries negotiating away from the US because we are no longer a trusted trading partner. It is only a matter of time for the $$$

Agreed. 50 years of successive government cowardice + 2008 + Covid have got the US to this point. However, Trump and particularly Vance and Bessant are actively trying to remove the $ as the global reserve. It's been the plan all along.

Destruction of the bond market, re-price the gold reserve onto the treasury balance sheet (approx $5T) high inflation, high tariffs, high unemployment, low dollar, re-patriation of the military, rebuild energy infrastructure, all-in on AI/robotics. This is the JD Vance/ Scott Bessant endgame.

Hello; many of his business ventures ended up in bankruptcy. Why think this would be different? He has no clue in whatever he does. Hillary and Kamala warned us. Next time we should listen.
