Wasn't that long ago Nesrine did a whole article telling the UK and other "white saviour" countries/people to stay out of Sudan's business and they could sort their own issues out (after Arab Spring days) Fast forward a few yrs she was begging us all for help and whining we weren't doing enough

Spot on. The UN is meant to stand for peace and the protection of civilians. Handing its top job to a nominee from a state so deeply implicated in Sudan's suffering would be absolutely disgusting, and a slap in the face to every Sudanese family that has lost someone.
