Jeffries and his ilk were quick to discount Mamdani’s political project as one that could never take root beyond New York City. But as other primary races this cycle have shown us, that’s simply not true.

I don't get the whole "bend the knee" part. Are you trying to suggest that the left is just as authoritarian as MAGA and will exact the same unthinking fealty from the rest of the party? It's not a good message.

Excellent point! "bend the knee" is just terrible phrasing for the need for Democratic "leadership" to listen to their constituents and stop sending US weapons to Israel to further its slaughters and land grabs in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank and Lebanon and Iran ‼️

In Maine, Graham Platner delivered a crushing defeat in the Democratic Senate primary to Gov. Janet Mills, whom Chuck Schumer reportedly “aggressively recruited” to enter the race at all

In the Senate race in Michigan, polling is strong for Abdul El-Sayed, a former public health official pushing Medicare for All and centering Israel’s genocide of Palestinians while competing with a both-sides-ing progressive and an outright AIPAC Democrat.

Dr. Adam Hamawy, a 9/11 first responder who saved Sen. Tammy Duckworth’s life as an Army medic but was also tarred with Islamophobic attacks that tried to frame him as a supporter of terrorism, won a crowded 12-way primary in New Jersey earlier this month.

If you care to pay attention, there’s an obvious through line with all these candidates: They all stand for actual policy, not just mealy-mouthed “messaging,” and they have been unequivocal in their criticism of Israel.

They aren't going to bend the knee to the left when their political viability is predicated on spreading their cheeks for the same shadowy donors who own the Republicans.

And if they do, they’ll lose the “mushy middle” which often decides races. I used to deride the middle, in which I am now firmly planted, especially considering the major parties continue to migrate to the extremes.

Centrists, as usual, are claiming "progressives can't win outside deep blue America", which has always been nonsense. The truth is they refuse to even try because they know that their grift will come to an end when enough progressives get elected.
