Do you remember the outcry when the Taliban destroyed the Bamiyan buddhas? Where is the outcry for the cultural destruction Israel has wrought on Gaza? The war on Hamas has been the excuse for an orgy of vindictive destruction that has robbed history, art, culture. We shall remember, Israel.

“During my five years of dental school, and even afterward, I ate more meals in her home than in my own. I would call her to ask what she had made, and she would always say the same thing: “Come over… even if I didn’t cook, I’ll make something for you, or we’ll cook together.” A warm & tender life

“When I walk along streets that no longer lead to any home, I feel the paradox press against me with the force of both wound and endurance. Gaza continues to exist in ways that maps cannot record, in lives that persist against erasure, in memories carried southward or abroad.”

“From my window I can see Gaza as it is now: weary, exhausted, bent in prayer and desperate for salvation. But there remains life; the capacity to dream, to hope, to resist. These diaries are not a comfort. They are an attempt to tell the world that I have a future…” Israelis are killing Gaza’s hope
