(apart the one of my young grandmother, all pics were taken on Google) In fact, this is not very far from my usual subject, sci-fi, which is sometimes (partly) inspired by WW2 and the fight against fascism. Star Wars is a good example. (3/41)

By the way, Star Wars Visions The Spy Dancer by French studio La Cachette is inspired by real events. These memoirs were written in the 2nd half of the 20th century, transcribed by my brother after my grandmother's death, and then translated by myself. (4/41)

Here are five extracts from the life of my beloved grandmother, Jacqueline, in France during WW2. In 1944, she was 12 years old. I'll skip the many pages about bombings, hunger, collaborators, children manipulated by propaganda, and other horrible situations. To arrive in June 1944. (5/41)

Thank you. On D-Day, my father was rescued and hidden by folks in a French village, but the Nazis found him and he spent the rest of his years in Stalag Luft III. He was in Paris, however, when the lights returned to the City of Lights that had been dark in all ways for so long.

About a year. He arrived 3 months after the Great Escape at the same camp and was one of the POWs who did the forced march of about 500 miles in the middle of the worst winter Germany had seen in 30 years. I got to see where his camp had been a few years ago.
