To celebrate 10k followers, it's time for some introductions. πŸ–– Bonjour! My name is Pierre (but you can call me Spaceshipper, which was just the name of my mini-media dedicated to sci-fi). I'm a French writer, I'm 44, and I have two sons and two cats - and a multitude of social network accounts...

I wrote millions of words for a decade about sci-fi before starting The Spaceshipper, six years ago next month on Twitter. To tell the truth, I had created this account only to stop annoying the followers of my personal account with my geeky diatribes (I'm probably autistic, like my son). πŸ˜†

To my surprise, my approach to sci-fi creation appealed to a lot of people. Note: 10k followers in 17 months isn't as good as the start of this account on Twitter 1.0, except that there were already 300+ million people on Twitter, and only 100,000 when I got here! Very promising for the future. πŸ‘Œ

And no, this account is not dedicated solely to spaceships. It's just the main angle, probably the most seductive one too. But I'm more interested in the process of creation, design, and inspiration. And my second angle is enthusiasm. The Internet is already too immersed in negativity and hate. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

One of the big advantages of having a mildly popular account is being able to recommend stuff I like (don't be surprised if I don't talk about what I don't like - I just don't). A lot of people have seen The Expanse, For All Mankind, or Scavengers Reign thanks to my account, and that's really cool.

Initially, I planned to open an account dedicated to LucasArts (I was writing a book), but the success of The Spaceshipper soon took up more and more of my time. I still opened LucasArtsMemory a few months later. (It started out as LucasfilmGames, but I passed the handle on to Lucasfilm.)
