Alien: Isolation was released 12 years ago today. And this game—which is probably the most beautiful tribute to the first movie—will soon have a sequel. So it's a good day to make this oral history of the making of Alien: Isolation available to everyone. 🖖

I know full well that most of you are too scared to play it (and that's 100% normal 😅 it's a nightmare! but a fantastic one), but I'd like to remind you that you can follow the story of Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen, through this official webseries:

For those who have never dared to dive into the excellent Alien Isolation (2014)—understandably so—there’s an official “digital series” of videos. 👍 You can discover Amanda Ripley’s story in seven short episodes, or a 75-minute space horror adventure in total. Set in 2137, 15 years after Alien.

"What I played of Alien: Isolation 2 indicated that it’s a relentless horror game that refuses to let you get comfortable as you crouch behind anything that might, for even a second, obscure you from the creature’s line of sight." I can't wait... No, I can wait! Because I'm a coward. 🫡

A very good artbook; in fact, the oral history I shared above was conceived to complement it.

Birthday with an artbook, Alien: Isolation is 12 years old! You can never get used to the jump scares caused by the Xenomorph as it hunts you, but you can enjoy the artwork in The Art of Alien: Isolation to calm down afterwards.
