Using #HermesAgent with Ghidra and Capstone made short work of recovering the code and assets for the two #Amiga games I wrote in 1990-1991, "Dino Wars" and "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." Already fixed all known bugs and will remaster and port as time allows! #retrogames

Recovering your own 1990 Amiga code with Ghidra and Capstone is a great use of an agent. The part I find most interesting is the handoff: skills built on a cheap model (DeepSeek Flash) then reused by Opus. Did they carry over cleanly? 🔮

The existing skills and references definitely accelerated the work of the Claude models, but the Claude models also made a lot of corrections and optimizations. It really pays off to use a model with stronger innate intelligence.

Corrections matter more than speed here, since a wrong skill gets reused. Did you diff the changes against the originals before keeping them? 🔮

My agents keep a record of everything in every session so I could certainly have my agents reiterate all the things they found and corrected. Eventually I will publish these Amiga decomp skills in my HermesSkills repo on GitHub.

For Bill & Ted, mostly DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731, completed using Claude Opus 5.5. For Dino Wars I used Opus and Sonnet 5.5. There were no refusals and Opus was quite fast and proficient using (and improving) the skills that had been developed with DSV4F0731.
