In the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean, there is an island. It's 1,700 miles from the nearest major city. The population is 220 people. There's one Steam account. @jamiehore.bsky.social set himself the ridiculous task of finding the most remote gamer in the world. This is their story:

Same. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth to see a cool post with no warning up front at all about a rug-pull halfway through. Is the next next post I see here also going to stop halfway with no warning? No idea. Can't tell.

Look I know the age of giant media companies has accustomed people to always free content, but the age of ad-support is dying if not totally dead, and independents can't survive by being a rounding error on a big media corp's budget either. You gotta pay for good stuff sometimes.

It's totally fair to have paid-only content. I completely agree. My complaint is the lack of any sort of identification as paid content until one is halfway through reading the article. Mark the post and/or mark the top of the article. Doing otherwise just feels sneaky and a little gross.
