okay so from the responses it sounds like the options include - aromaco (affordable, reliable) - zojirushi (spendy, versatile) - microwave donabe (very cool) i don’t have a microwave at the moment and the zojirushi might be more than i need… but i just tried an aromaco hated it lol

turns out a rice cooker is a load bearing part of my life and i need a new one so… hit me with your recommendations

the number of good reviews of the aromaco make me suspect maybe i just got a dud or a terrible model? so i might give them another shot before going with a fancy machine (god knows i love a fancy contraption that earns its keep)
