aight the 2 web devs who follow me i need your help trying to make the most basic website to kind of act as a landing page to my tumblr, itch, bandcamp etc and maybe add further functionality later got a domain, got a vps but like i have no fucking idea what to do now pls help :3

if all you want is a static landing page that just redirects to your other socials you don't need to pay for a vps. a lot of services offer free hosting for static pages & allow you to provide your own domain. from there idk you just make a site, bundle it & publish on your provider of choice

so basically i want something that's slightly more than that because I wanna host my own music and videos on there as well, plus maybe sell my own services/media in the long run. i've seen static pages might be the best bet but like literally the inspo is early smosh.com, ~2005 era web.

as far as the actual site making part goes idk theres like a million different ways people like to do it. standard html+css+js, using a templating framework for langs like kotlin/ruby/python, visual builders (ive never once seen these work well) etc. Personally Iwould just go w standard html+css ngl

this makes sense yeah i'm mostly interested in html+css n like i've found plenty of tutorials for that, although i've been exposed to react and like that kinda stuff as well but that's more out of curiosity bc i have no idea what it is.
