Fair point, but speaking as someone who grew up in Davy Crockett National Forest and as a child found way more cottonmouths in unexpected places* than I can count on all my fingers and toes, this may still qualify as one of the nonstop horrors. *thankfully, never inside my headgear

I only know of one friend (and separately, one of my college professors) who actually got a venomous bite, and neither from cottonmouths. Pretty much everyone else I grew up with has a handful of close call stories...although none quite as good as this kid's 😂.
