i think it’s very important to call out that this is happening, but i’m also kind of unsettled that the accounts were taken down sewing discord isn’t illegal, so it seems like it should be tolerated, but also, god damn i wish it would stop

It's one thing when individuals sow chaos. It's another thing when state supported bot farms fabricate stories or amplify divisive messages to supercharge chaos. Precisely because it exploits free speech, it is one of the most potent weapons to use against free societies.
