The "only" have a size limit of 3MB on the free plan, and 10MB on paid, as well as no Node native modules support to my knowledge... Cloudflare Containers is using Workers as API though, and DurableObjects to connect to the running containers.

Once I figured out how to set up the Workers -> DurableObjects -> Container pipeline, it was fairly easy. I stumbled upon some Hono middleware peculiarities with DOs while doing it as well, e.g. the CORS middleware is not compatible, and the bearer-auth one as well.

Ideally to use it in conjunction with data residing in R2, R2 Data Catalog for Iceberg tables, and then the Iceberg DuckDB extension to query it...

A lakehouse in the cloud? :) or a database layer on top of distributed files. That sounds interesting, definitely following along :)

Thanks! I learned today that there were some issues fixed around R2 Data Catalog support in the Iceberg extension, but not yet released in a synched version. So it‘ll take a short while I guess until it fully works with v1.3.0…
