I am a bit late to this conversation but I actually did have progress on a sponsorship model for teams where mutual marketting would simultaneously fund things like production but also (in success) acrue budget for things like LAN travel, lodging, potentially equipment etc. >>

The idea is that the likeness of team identity and player identity can be used in merchandising in a way that gives a spectator reason long-term to follow along/support. I've been really interested in some ways that Major League Balatro is sponsored by artists. Honestly the reality isn't far off >>

I genuinely think the missing factor for me is just time. GRANTED the model is barebones for that reason. I'd love more time to work on making something like that work.
