@willsmith.fun regarding Tech Pod, I just got my SSD RMAd and decided that it’s time to try full-time Linux. I have living room hardware with Ethernet and was super excited about the Steam streaming news you talked about. And then you broke my heart telling me I’d need Windows for HDR. Sadness.

I’m on Nvidia and also my local monitors don’t support HDR (or 4K) but the living room TV is both. How screwed am I there? I started with Bazzite, had problems that I thought could be solved with Cachy, turned out to be irrelevant, can switch back.

I suppose I can always just keep running the long HDMI cable which does give me HDR. It’s the virtual monitors that are always the hassle.

You can do a HDMI output dongle too, but then you have to do some work to make Steam put the game on the right monitor. Apollo/Sunshine both handle that pretty well, but I haven’t fooled with it with the Steam Link stuff yet.
