Australian Aboriginees had 10s of thousands of years at the top of the food chain. They left it unblemished. The issue is not intelligence its unfettered capitalism and the roughly 51% of people who keep voting for it. They happen to be the very stupidest of our species.

The issue is the development of technology and certain social structures - the issue is history. Please read that carefully - *HISTORY*. Capitalism didn't burst on to the world out of no where - it came out of unintentional, gradual history, speeded up at times.

But whereever and whenever it came, the capacity in our species came first. Otherwise you need to explain why certain human populations are (seemingly) so wise and virtuous.

I really don't consider a species "intelligent" that allows an artificial construct(money) rule them so thoroughly that common sense and doing the greater good for the survival of the species no longer matter.

A brain is a tool and pretty much like every tool, there's a good way and a bad way to use it. Humans had great minds, even philosophers like Mark Aurelius who also ran states. But humans no longer have that intellectual spark in them. The system doesn't feed thinkers, rather favors pragmatists.

First, he links intelligence with a lack of predators. Then he suggests that leads necessarily to planetary destruction. In both of those assertions there is no logic laid out to support them. I seriously question the second one.
