The resale value of petrol & diesel cars is already bad, but will continue to crash in coming years. In a few years, you won't be able to get rid of any car that requires petrol. It will require government subsidies if petrol refining is to continue. #auspol www.smh.com.au/business/con... #auspol

This is why we need governance to manage the transition. Transitioning transport is too vital to be left in industry hands. FF subsidies have delayed investment (or stopped it) in new tech for too long already. Market forces *will* win, but the incumbent welfare and corruption blocking it must stop

The electric vehicle is fast taking over the consumer space and displacing fossil fuel cars. There's resistance in the trucking industry because they get a tax rebate to stay with diesel. That rebate is a grave national security risk, as our economy and food supply is dangerously reliant on diesel

Yeah, they are also heavily targeted by propaganda, and as a strategic industry, that means $M spent on EV myths. Like farmers though, *viable* solutions *are* welcomed. Trucking and farming cannot be transitioned via grass roots...the coal face is barely viable, and massive investment is needed...

...and the usual foreign suspects intend to profit from every step, as well as the publicly funded cleanup. Being foreign capital with only ROI on mind, any collapse of Aussie transport or economy due to legacy tech is an Opportunity, not a threat! Waste for us is profit for corporate scum.

The market is quickly shifting around the world, except in the USA. The rest of the world is quickly opening their eyes that EVs are better than ICE vehicles. America is too gaslighted right now but we will come around.

The EV prices are coming down as their range goes up. The reason to buy a car that uses fossil fuel starts to disappear, which is why that market is collapsing.
