Luddites are pro worker, pro union, pro labor, pro little people standing together to make a huge terrifying fist aimed at the rich assholes trying to exploit everyone. Luddites fought for you and me before we were even born.

Under capitalism, everything that should liberate us is used to exploit or replace us. For as long as we live under a system that forces us to labor in exchange for our survival, we should do everything we can to slow the automation of that labor until our survival is guaranteed by other means.

I am not going to argue the morality or inherent worth or utilitarian goodness of the rise of industrial robots in factories, or changing our fuels. It's that we let the people working in the old paradigm simply twist in the wind when we pivoted.
