This is unacceptable and yet more evidence of the administration limiting oversight and keeping the public in the dark while asserting more political control over NSF, which has also included firing the entire NSF National Science Board in August.

The administration is also trying to increase its political control through a proposed NSF rule that would subject all NSF grants to review and approval by a politically appointed official, contradicting everything NSF’s current merit-review process stands for.
