Don't get me wrong. I'm not unhappy or sad or depressed right now. I was, but not anymore. I just got my freedom back. Even though it's with a blown head gasket. But hey- That thing has been blown for 8+ years now and it still drives.

I had an old 2003 Nissan Sentra that was throwing head gasket codes. parking it, unplugging something under the hood, waiting some seconds, replugging and praying it’d get me the rest of the way home without sputtering into oblivion

I don't get head gasket codes, the check engine light is completely out. And it's perfectly fine if I drive in the city. But if I drive long distances on the highway suddenly the temp needle spikes, and my recovery tank is full to the cap instead of to the max line, and it smells like exhaust.

What happens is a slow collection of exhaust in the head, and then the water pump is trying to pump exhaust. Then I turn on the heater, and a bunch of water falls out of that into the water pump, and it works long enough to get to a rest stop.
