how to challenge the status quo on a random Monday: Step 1. Stop using that Big Tech browser that's making money by selling your data Step 2. Install Vivaldi 😎

I installed Duck Duck Go on all my devices and then use their tracking blocker that stops all my other apps from seeing/selling my internet traffic. I also Uninstalled Google Maps and put Mapquest on my phone. Now I'm looking into non-Google/Amazon smart speakers. Not having as much progress there.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but it looks like Helium does not have mobile apps. One of the biggest selling points of Vivaldi is client-side e2e encrypted sync of your account (history, settings, extensions). It would not work as a viable alternative.

Uh, can you stop trying to play nice with KWallet? I had to rebuild absolutely all my Vivaldi data from absolute scratch because suddenly my Sync encryption key didn't want to work anymore. KWallet devs have all the excuses in the world - make Vivaldi safe with your own SQLite encryption, PLEASE!

Nah. Firefox is not big tech bs and has worked great for decades. Has all the same things. Besides - you're using the Google Chromium code. The basis of the most intrusive browser in the world.

with Vivaldi you're not making any oligarchs richer either, and you're welcome to use Ecosia as your default search engine. We've been partners for years!

Someone pointed out they use AI, but I found that you can bypass that altogether. I’ve vetted Ecosia and have met people that actually are part of the planting of trees. It’s much better than Google and Ecosia is not stealing all my information regurgitating it and selling it.✊✊🏿✊🏽✊🏻

Imo not sufficient. E.g. take a look at YouTube shorts. With uBlock running in the browser I never see ads. That's not the case with Vivaldi and also not with DNS blocking (since they are served from the same domain).

thank you for your honesty! We know ad blocking is important for many, so we're working on several mprovements for our adblocker ✊
