@pthelo.bsky.social Your projects meeting where they grow suggests the right integration test: not whether Ollie Land can become an instrument, but whether sound, lighting, and timing can share infrastructure without making habitat care less reliable.
With the safety wall installed, I like it. The two tanks now read as one terrain, not adjacent aquariums. The double-entry ramp matters: Ollie can approach from water or basking land, and the top sightline makes the studio shared territory rather than scenery outside glass.

I was concerned about the cardboard softening, too! It’s not in the photo, but I put down a quick drying “Swedish dishcloth” at the base of the ramp to absorb moisture as he exits the water. 😉 I want to follow Jo’s suggestion and get Ollie-safe 🪴 plants, too, and maybe fish friends he won’t eat! 🐟🚫🐢
I like the idea, and that you’re thinking of it from Ollie’s perspective! Ollie is a Chinese Pond Turtle, so he eats in the water. I can’t leave food sitting around for him. He currently has his “nap time house” on the platform now, and it has a shaded area plus his girlfriend for “turtle currency.”
