never let anyone talk you out of spending $35 on VRChat avatars, that $120 will be the greatest $550 you ever spend in your life

if it helps u can do alot more 600 on vrchat avatars than u ever can in the IRL fashion space, not counting thrifting.

Do let people talk you into learning a little blender to make your own assets~ it's easier than you think!

What started as a “Oh I want to buy something and customize for myself” turned into self discovery and literally Thousands of dollars spent. Plus new VR hardware, trackers, and paid software to run everything properly.

The best creativity comes from working within constraints, and financial ones are the most important!

But do let people talk you out of buying avatars in game, buying them from other platforms like booth and gumroad gives you way more possibilities for the same price.

This. I can retexture and edit avatars myself if I buy them from the creator directly. Can't do that with in game purchases. But I also think in game purchases is good for those who don't care about customization.
