You know what has made me go from "somewhat indifferent to" to "very much against" online gambling? ALL THE GODDAMN ADS EVERYWHERE in combination with reading news stories about how many people are becoming gambling addicts

There was more concern over gambling in video games via lootbox gacha than there is about legal sports betting and prediction markets, which impact more people and with larger dollar values at play And there's a problem here

Mobile game gachas are also predatory sure but TO THEIR CREDIT they aren't dangling the carrot of "you will make real money and change your life" It's entirely tied to "IN THIS VIDEO GAME WORLD" you will get more powerful. And there actually ARE rewards to them when people whale!
