LA should take this opportunity and demand every rebuilt home to be a 2-flat or 3-flat (see chicago 2-flats, but pls with at least 2 - 3 m distance to the next lot). This would double the resid. capacity, while retaining the suburban character and making public transport more feasible in the area.
