This is grim. If the NHS is not even properly recording the numbers, reasons or years that trans people died while awaiting care, it is indicative of systemic (and intentional) failures. The government didn't want the figures published, because they didn't want the truth to be known. 😡

The NHS has transphobic and abusive even before austerity and the trans panic hit. If anything they're so low quality they're harmful and create problems and fuck people up and ruin their life chances. What's happening today is the mask coming full off and the state has gone full Happy Slapping.

And some people are pointing out that they're not even counting everyone.

Whilst I'm 20 years behind the times, depending on your referral path, it did 'cost' 3 suicide attempts to get your GIC appointment, I've never fully explored the GIC system (didn't pay the price) but fair to assume the 'cost' keeps being presented before certain amounts of progress is allowed.
