I spoke at length, and enthusiastically , with an amiable stranger about his 2002 Mercury sedan the other day. Some people love boring, reliable, invisible body-on-frame highway cruisers.
He was driving away and stopped, hopped out , and shouted "112k miles!" and the drive away.
A big part of why I fell in love. Many big repair bills aside, she's been a (deeply impractical) joy.
As for conversations about her with mostly middle-aged dudes (and a few chicks, man), they're mostly pleasant, but sometimes people say, "I had the sedan."
...which is a COMPLETELY different car.😑
