Touchy subject: I am old enough to remember when studios using Outsourcing was frowned upon because it was taking jobs away from locals. (Games & Animation) Also how invisible those people are in the released game. It's way too normalized now. Both sides of the 'issue' having valid points and stuff

When I was fresh out of college, my classmates and I would be turned down only for the job listing to be filled by an visa employee. (legally public on h1b tracking sites) It also allows for people to immigrate to the US. Which was desirable (not as much now.. ha..)

Allows for smaller countries to participate in a market. (Outsourcing to Malaysia, Vietnam, etc) Now most AAA releases in gaming are like 50% or more outsourcing. It irks me the wrong way when outsourcing increases and layoffs increase. We replace more local bodies with remote bodies.

It's hard to talk about because it can be viewed as anti-immigration or something. But I'd rather have people coming in on visas than our studios contracting with remote outsourcing studios. Anyways I was thinking about this again because the Starwars Galactic Racer articles leaving out nearly 100+

People that would have otherwise been on the credits because so much of that game's environment art/character art is outsourced. Every studio is doing this. Trust me on that one. I used to give speeches at my college to graduating classess about the industry. What do I tell them--

when all the jobs are literally gone? And that's not even addressing the Ai elephant in the room. It was bad before, imagine how shit it's going to become? Creative industries are at high risk now more than ever. I think we're going to be seeing a lot more AA sized or smaller efforts.
