Its funny how Microsoft looked at the Steam Deck, considered every part of it, and went "lets do that but get nearly every element the most wrong possible then try and charge an insane amount for it" And do not believe they'll improve it, when this flops they'll abandon it in 6 months.

It's actually worse than that. Microsoft didn't even subsidise the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. So not only are they worse comparatively, you're also getting a worse deal financially and the company whose brand is in the name doesn't even have enough faith in the product to subsidise its cost.

I imagine Microsoft has had to commit to some length of time to support the software but even in a best case scenario I think it'll be critical bug fixes only after a couple of years. The silver lining is you can still put SteamOS on these, but then that defeats their one selling point (game pass).

I think the funniest thing about it, is because they call it the Xbox Ally people think it'll play Xbox games (it doesn't) wonder how many people will fall for the scam.

No. Xbox gamepass games are separate from PC gamepass games. They occasionally have overlapping games, but unless the devs decided to add their game to PC gamepass as well it's a separate list

Huh, guess it shows how little interest I have in something like that that I would miss that big of a difference. Here I thought the Xbox games would be some kind of streaming thing like Luna even if they didn't run natively.
