Maybe read the article? And read up on protein-folding AI? It's stuff humans can't do. This isn't an LLM. Yes, most AI is bullshit. A bunch of uses of AI though will actually will make huge breakthroughs and cures we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Skeptism shouldn't be knee-jerk.

What could go wrong? AI has been proven over and over to be a scrupulously, unimpeachably, honest and thorough platform whose data and conclusions are always correct. /snark

Actually (and I am definitely NOT an AI fan) protein-folding in search of new drug molecules is one thing that CAN be done with models, much faster than previous ways. There aren't zero uses for AI, just that...the uses they keep pushing are THE WORST. But other uses could yield breakthroughs.

Part of it is, where there's something rules based (like how a molecule is built via bonds) or pattern-based (like MRI scans looking for cancer), AI models can be trained quite well to find things faster and better. However, it's not going to be writing novels of any quality, lacking a human mind.
