I'm pretty sure the "industrial revolution+ (but wrong 30% of the time)" is an existential threat.

So the doom talk’s a hustle, according to one of its fiercest critics. Could be. But if the founders get paid either way, somebody oughta ask who’s selling the apocalypse and who’s cashing the check.

There are no AI upsides worth taking any risk whatsoever for. None.

Make them regulate things that don't matter.

The idea that LLMs exhibit consciousness and pose an autonomous threat is the greatest marketing stunt of the decade.

If you just think for half a minute that if someone controls a machine that is vastly more knowledgeable than any human and they have a long enough time horizon its self-evident they have an enormous advantage in any conflict or competition.
