Time and time again when progressive parties try to position themselves as a vote against conservatism they lose. The voters who stayed home aren't to blame, the blame falls on the party failing to sell a vision of the future to get them out to the polls, which is their one job!

Being constantly told that better things aren't possible and that we have to be "practical" and vote for the lesser evil has just convinced people to check out entirely, stop engaging, and stop voting.

I *do* blame the people that stayed home. There is another progressive party in BC but NDP voters chose to not vote at all instead of supporting it - see what loyalty gets you 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I get it and agree to an extent. But in my riding the NDP incumbent was MIA the whole election, and the Green candidate was someone I'd never heard of. Yes the green platform was great, and Lowan has a great vision to sell. But local candidates still need to get their asses out in the community.
