The earnestness w/ which nearly ALL Television and Early Video Game Music was created during the 80s and 90s is a testament to how we could still pay people for craft Shareholder Supremacy, in a very real way, robbed of us having Unsolved Mysteries level theme songs for at least two generations now

And don't get me started on Cartoons', kids and adult, theme songs from the mid 90s to early 2000s Spongebob Squarepants arguably being the most important cultural touchstone for Millenial and Gen Z communication That was off the back of a LOT of Klasky Csupo bangers (Shout out Mark Mothersbaugh)

I will note the exceptions to the rule, both of which are a product of explicitly being a part of one of the last holdouts in 'capex for craft' in media: HBO Sopranos (1999) and Game of Thrones (2011) Sopranos doesn't get full credit since it's not an original theme, but it's still worth noting.

The Unsolved Mysteries theme song is pure fear + anticipation made audible. When that song came on the TV @ 3am? And you were ALL ALONE in a big scurry haus? I fr hid under the covers or changed the channel to escape that terrifying song! (It STILL gives me the creeps.) 😂😱
