Make a video with a week or two of recording a script, recording footage, and editing: 3k views a year in. Record a video and slap in ambient music and upload it before going to work all within a few hours: 13k views in 4 days. Algorithms kill me sometimes.

YouTube is a pretty schizophrenic platform in many ways. I've noticed similar things on my own channel even when I upload stuff that my audience likes or I think "should" do well because it's all fairly quick and genuine.

just keep in mind that youtube changed the view count scoring so that any amount of viewing counts as a view now. before you had to view something like five seconds of the video before it counted. so the view counts are a bit inflated now.

I'm from period of time on youtube where it used to work like that anyways so I'll take it. I doubt its just from that though because the comments and thumbs up ratings are exponentially higher as well. The algorithm decided to help for once.
