Don't miss what happened in the last weeks - tsdown is now part of VoidZero - Vite Devtools Sneak Peek - oxc-minify in Rolldown - rolldown-vite improvements - ViteConf Speaker Overview - Upcoming meetup in San Francisco - Goxc and Godown More in this thread πŸ‘‡

tsdown, the spiritual successor to tsup, is now part of the VoidZero family! πŸŽ‰ @sxzz.dev will be working on the library bundling solution based on @rolldown.rs, which serves as a foundation for Vite’s library mode. bsky.app/profile/sxzz...

Big news! tsdown has officially been adopted by @rolldown.rs as part of their core ecosystem and will become the foundation for Rolldown Vite’s Lib Mode! πŸŽ‰ Excited to see it evolve as part of the official ecosystem. Stay tuned for more updates! github.com/rolldown/tsd...

A lot of projects use it in prod and getting similar results size-wise and way better results speed-wise. There are still quite some optimizations planned but nothing should stop you from using it!

Personally, the main concern about changing the minifier would be its stability (the potential of getting incorrectly minified code). I experienced many minification bugs before when moving to SWC minifier, and it was true pain to debug these kinds of issues, due to the nature of minifier issues πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

I fully understand that. On the other hand, if nobody uses the minifer, stability will be difficult to reach and issues might not be uncovered. Also, it is more likely that you hit a panic than a minification issue itself given that oxc-minify tests against terser fixtures (amongst others) as well

I understand πŸ‘ I just hope it to be tested against different public projects!
