On a note that doesn't make me want to tear my hair out - the PowerBook G4 is an unbelievably cool laptop, and my new favourite toy.

G3 also

Very true. I have Debian sid on mine, but Mac OS is pretty neat too, I've been people run the reconstructed 10.6.8 on them to good result.

PPC G4 is peak Apple

I miss when non-Arm RISC was still a thing. I'd kill for a SPARCbook, or a mobile DEC Alpha machine. The PPC Macs had such character!

So many times I've told people that the 12" was the greatest Mac ever. I used to have two and a bunch of batteries. Those were the days.

The 12" might be the best form factor of any Apple laptop to date. That device was so, so cool, and damn powerful for its size!

You should try VR on it!

And the "Snow Leopard" was the last truly venerable OS X version ;-)

I like my used 300 dollar HP with built in DVD rom and removable battery. It also feels like it could take a beating because it's small, yet hefty.
