Age verification is a shortcut, not a silver bullet. If there are additional costs to allow non-age verified users, let us choose to pay those costs with something other than our legal ID under a government that is hostile to the queer community. Higher registration fee? Minimum account age? Etc

ℹ️ Starting with Furality Ultra, our conventions will require attendees to be 18+ and age-verified in VRChat. VRChat Age Verification will be provided for FREE with your Access Pass, and our content policies remain unchanged. Please read our full statement and FAQ in the reply.

I've had my VRC account since like 2017 I would have had to been 8 years old when I made it to *not* be 18 in time for furality 2026 Using account age would be a pretty solid alternative avenue imho

(Age verification with in-person conventions is quite different because you can see the person checking your ID, often someone within the furry fandom. Heck, last time I was friends with that person's partner.)
