We seriously need to plant trees and YESTERDAY ! Oxygen levels have dropped year after year over the last 35 years since 1991 by about 750ppm (Parts per Million) according to the Scripps Institute who have multiple measuring sites around the globe. scrippso2.ucsd.edu oxygenlevels.org

Looks obvious from the graph that the rate of increase is increasing (curve gradient increasing). Slight hiccup around 1991 due to the Mount Pinatubo eruption. No chance of Net zero anytime soon then. iowaclimate.org/2025/03/21/h...

Not even the *rate* of increase is slowing. In scientific terms, the second derivative of this curve remains positive. It’s like, um, we’re not even really trying.

The graph seems to be accelerating upwards. We are already approaching civilisation destruction levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere right now. Unless we reach zero emissions in 5 years it’s entirely over. What we add next, will decide how soon it happens.
