I always wonder about the validity of this measure... I would like to know the volume estimates as they would seem to better reflect the loss as 'new' ice sheet is significantly thinner than older accumulated masses that seem to be breaking down. Are thickness measurements made?

Volume continues to decline overall. Funding for this measurement was discontinued by the Trump administration earlier this year.
