I wouldn’t fault Catholic bishops for going to the White House to plead for abused (and most often Catholic) migrants, if this is what they did. Knowing the kind of people there now, they should have been ready to get their own message out right after the event. [Via @jackjenkins.me]

A press conference, a briefing, an interview. Something. The bishops had to know Trump & his people would try to score some publicity from a meeting like this. Now that is the story, and the bishops’ message to Trump and his supporters is lost.
