UPDATE: Since my last post I've confirmed this is planned burning of slash piles, which... **finally** cleaning up that area. Additional slash piles between China Springs and Williams Summit are putting up smoke now. #IdahoFire

Getting questions about smoke in Salmon. The AlertWest cam on Baldy shows dark smoke behind Lake Mountain, around china springs, on the Ridge Road. There's been logging/fuels-reduction activity there last couple years, I assume this is burning slash. No reported incident. #IdahoFire

Burning slash piles is a new term for me. I had to look it up.😁 I actually have one waiting to burn. I won’t be in charge of that…all is well.😉
