REMINDER: Tomorrow is my Health and Wellness Fair from 9 am to noon at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. There will be flu shots, door prizes, refreshments & community resources! When you come, please park on the Jamestown Street side of the hospital – & not at the Delivery Entrance on Rector Street.

💰 We’re working to get big money out of politics. Our bill will stop corporations from using treasury money to influence our elections. Elections should belong to people, not the biggest checkbooks. #MontanaPlan #MoneyOutOfPolitics #CitizensUnited #PApolitics

If you’re struggling to afford child care, you’re not alone, the system hasn’t kept up. Pennsylvania’s child care tax credit is based on outdated costs, even though many families now pay around $15,000 a year for infant care. That means parents can’t claim what they actually spend.

As we celebrate our nation’s founding, I’m grateful that my father came to America from the Indian subcontinent in 1964 in pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. I’ll continue fighting every day to ensure every family has the same opportunity to achieve the American Dream that my father found here

Thank you to everyone at Ascension Mar Thoma Indian Church for your incredibly warm welcome. It was a privilege to celebrate this historic milestone with you, and I’ll always be here to serve your community. 🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America!

With PECO Local 614 workers authorizing a strike, HB 2224 sends the right message: prioritize workers, safety, and reliable infrastructure. Not excessive corporate profits. PA families shouldn’t be forced to pay higher utility bills just to PECO’s shareholder profits.

Too many Pennsylvanians are struggling with addiction We should be expanding access to treatment, not creating barriers. Proud to see the State Govt. Committee unanimously pass my bill to preserve the Gaudenzia treatment campus on Henry Ave. and strengthen access to addiction treatment.

I reflected on the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and how we as representatives can help deliver on that promise by treating each another with kindness, grace, and understanding…and Go Birds! 🏈🦅

Property taxes are making it harder for many older adults to stay in their homes. Rep. Fiedler's digital ads tax, which passed the #PAHouse, would generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for property tax relief by finally asking Big Tech to pay its fair share.

Our local students didn’t just learn about hunger. They helped write a resolution for the Pennsylvania House. Proud of the students from Norwood-Fontbonne and Chestnut Hill College for stepping up and taking action!

Pennsylvania uses two systems to help people with disabilities live at home. When they don’t match, people fall through the cracks. Our bipartisan resolution with Rep. Cerrato finds the gaps and fixes them. It goes up for a vote today in the PA House!

Today in committee, I pressed Human Services Secretary Val Arkoosh on what Washington’s “big beautiful law” is doing here at home. It’s making it harder for families, seniors, and veterans to put food on the table. 59,000 Pennsylvania families have already lost food assistance.

Turning a gorgeous vacant historic building at Broad and Wallace into 70 affordable homes for older adults… This is how Pennsylvania invests in helping people stay in their community! Because Philadelphians should be able to age with dignity.

Proud to be a co-prime sponsor with Reps. Dawkins, Green, Harris, Kenyatta, and Nelson on the Raise the Wage bill, which just passed in the PA House. It lets counties go to $15 and keeps wages tied to the cost of living so workers don’t fall behind. Now it’s on the Senate!!

When a university suggests unionizing could hurt Penn State, that’s not neutral, and it’s not consistent with its commitment not to use resources to influence the vote. Penn State should take that and other union-busting language down and ensure the neutrality it committed to.

Want to be a nurse, PA, social worker, physical therapist, or architect? Washington’s “Big Beautiful Bill” just made it harder to pay for school and get reimbursed for services. I spoke with John A. Fry about the impact this could have on Temple University and its hospitals.

Despite the president’s lies about a ‘rigged election,’ Pennsylvania’s elections are free, fair, and safe. I spoke with Roxborough’s own PA’s Sec of State Al Schmidt about how we protect election integrity and combat misinformation.

I asked Labor Secretary Walker today about the $15 minimum wage bill I’m co-priming with Reps. Green and Kenyatta. $7.25 isn’t livable. Raising the wage strengthens workers, supports families, and makes Pennsylvania more competitive.

In Pennsylvania prisons, people earn about 23 cents an hour. A $5 medical co-pay is nearly a week’s wages. That means access to care can depend on whether someone has money in their account. My bill will reduce the co-pay to $1 — keeping accountability in place while removing a real barrier to care.

Pennsylvania must be ready if we see the kind of federal immigration overreach we saw in Minneapolis. Today, I asked AG Dave Sunday whether his office has the tools to protect our state. I’ll keep fighting to make sure everyone can live and exercise their rights without fear.
