2/2 The party leading the polls wants to send refugees fleeing the Taliban, including women and girls, back into its clutches and wants to pay that vile regime to dispose of them as they see fit. The Final Solution of our times. Makes you proud to be British doesn’t it?

My team and I have signed up for this, looks terrific.

Really excited to deliver this FREE session with @egcarr.bsky.social We’ll discuss the power of enquiry questions, including how they shape the analytic direction and purpose of a sequence of lessons, create a sense of intrigue & infuse lessons with energy! @counsellc.bsky.social

Gutted we can’t attend this year as last year was absolutely brilliant, but my team and I will be in Belgium with 40 Y11 students visiting the First World War battlefields. Looking forward to hearing all about it though!

If you have a ticket for our #Soane25 History teacher conference, then you'll very soon get the full programme and workshop options – exciting!! Meanwhile, here is a sneak peak (with more to be revealed). 👇👁️ There are just a handful of tickets left. Link below!

Following our recent inspection my school has been graded Good in all areas. For the first time in its 30 year history. I can’t tell you what an achievement it is and how much it is deserved. And as history was deep dived I like to think I played my part. Tonight I will be having a wine. 🥂

Which, incidentally, is why I think ITE should skew heavy towards subject specialism: schools are really well set up to teach generic pedagogues and behaviour management, less so curriculum

I love using @marcmorris.bsky.social articles with students. His article on King John (Was he really that bad? Yes!) will be part of our Y7 lessons on Magna Carta next week. Well worth signing up to history extra

Talk about this a lot with my trainees, so important

Whether you have tables in rows, groups or singles, put something on your board & go and sit on every chair Can you read the text? Are there obstructions? Are there distractors? If you’re expecting students to read/see from a board you need to check that it’s actually visible

The news that people inheriting land worth at least £1 million will have to pay tax on it has drawn significantly more outrage from politicians and the press than the news that 1 in 3 children in Britain are now living in poverty…

One of the beautiful creations I consulted on in #WolfHall is this gorgeous reproduction of the Book of Hours in which #AnneBoleyn & Henry VIII wrote messages to each other, recreated by the gifted Chris Rosser. It is a small detail, but one which makes my geeky heart sing 💜

You are up to date.
