This is your war. The excuses are yours. The more than 60,000 children killed or injured are also yours. Respond accordingly.

Donald Trump is a traitor, war criminal, thief, and liar. If you don’t know why he’s sending the DOJ and ICE to Louisville and Lexington polling places you may be part of the problem. I won’t say “may God have mercy on your soul” because you don’t deserve it.

My boy Johnny Murphy could have shot some masterpieces this morning out here but this will have to do. Cherokee Park shamelessly showing off this morning.

The best photos are often the ones you don‘t know are being taken. Keturah Herron Rep. Morgan McGarvey

Racism takes many forms. Sometimes it’s a policeman’s knee on your neck. Other times it’s a city allowing your neighborhoods to be poisoned for generations. For the Louisville Courier Journal as reported by the Louisville Courier Journal

Also - It’s not an “officiating controversy”. The referee ignored both an obvious pass interference AND time literally remaining on the clock. A “controversy” implies there are good faith arguments on both sides. #NotreDame

Breaks my heart. Related: DEM candidates: There are FAR more registered voters who don’t vote than there are MAGAs to pander to. Give the non-voters something to vote for. Something that inspires them. Not just *something slightly less conservative* than your GOP opponent. That’s how we got here.

So we are once again at the point of the college football season at which Alabama loses its 2nd game early, the chronically and laughably overrated SEC teams play each other so every loss improves their fictional Strength of Schedule, and the Committee begins to decide which non-SEC teams to screw.

First published @10 years ago. Trump has been compromised for the entirety of his Presidency. He’s a traitor but Americans will overlook almost anything as long as their White Supremacy, selfishness, and juvenile concepts of exceptionalism and independence are protected.

You do know that the laughably unqualified fool who shamed herself and our nation on her first day as White House Press Secretary is the same person Trump has hired to run every aspect of our government, right? This allows Trump and his sponsors to do anything they want. This is authoritarianism.

I check the UofL Brandeis School of Law cupola every morning before class. This morning a hawk awaited me. We are here to give our students wings. This was a good sign.

“He must be stopped” said a Couch Spokesperson “we’re really burning up about this”. @courierjournal.bsky.social @kentuckyfootball.bsky.social

Andy Barr wears many hats. They are hats of convenience. Is he a racist or did he just pretend to be one? Does he cuddle with Donald Trump or was that a phase? Is he a man of the people or just another shill for the wealthy? The harder question is: How does a man without a spine even wear a hat?

My piece in the Courier this morning: m.facebook.com/story.php?st...:

In a proper country LouCity FC woulda’ been promoted years ago but filling up the trophy case and being the most successful USL team of all time is something. All we do is win. #vamosmorados💜⚽💪

First, no MAGA candidate gets an ounce of credit for running *from* Trump at this point. They can still go to hell. Second, in fairness, he did deliver on his promises of racism, misogyny, and estrangement from the world democratic community. Third, I hope those chickens are incontinent.

I constantly struggle with this: Is it better that the worst people in our country are ineffective monsters, or would it be better in some way if they were at least good at what they do? www.npr.org/2026/10/01/n...

I published this a long time ago and it’s 2026 and now a rapist is President and sexual assaulters are on the Supreme Court and in the Cabinet and the Administration has loosened Title IX protections and it’s fair to ask not if things haven’t changed but whether they’ve gotten worse. #cornell

Louisville’s jail is a death trap. These are people awaiting hearings or trials. Like so much else about our city there is no sense of urgency from the highest political level for the sort of fundamental change that needs to occur. The last person to die . . . died from dehydration.

People: Here’s a < 3 minute time-lapse as I draw today’s political cartoon, which I’ll post separately. Some begin with a kernel of inspiration, or desperation, and others take shape while I draw. This one emerged from my head somewhat fully-formed. This guy’s pants, not so much, as you’ll see.

The pigs that run our nation now understand this: Without Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press none of the other “freedoms” matter because when you’re ruled - not governed - in secret you can’t do anything about it. No one is coming to save you. To save us. It’s YOU. And then, it’s US.

Children should not be killed. 20,000 children should not be killed. None of your justifications or excuses are or will ever be good enough. “The enemy is using them as targets”? They aren’t using 20,000 of them. And if they were you need to find another way. Or you’re fighting for nothing.

Louisville will be the last major city in the U.S. to have never had a woman or a person who isn’t white as mayor. Nearly 200 years after our first mayor we still have a murderous police force, ICE jailing innocent people, crumbling schools, and a city run by private developers.

Armelle Bondonga and Aminata Seck remain jailed for committing no crime. However you define yourself on the political spectrum, this should be monstrous and terrifying to an American. If you “don’t care to think about politics” then you a part of the problem. #FreeArmelle #FreeAminata

Ai is many things and among them is theft. Theft from artists and other creators. Theft of work and livelihoods. Theft from the planet. Theft, as we are learning, from our students’ development. My letter on behalf of the AAEC to The Baltimore Sun.

An innocent young woman, mother, and neighbor of yours was abducted by #iCE weeks ago contrary to the Constitution and everything else this nation should stand for. #ArmelleBondonga is still in jail. Every minute she is behind bars is an insult to right-thinking people.

In a functioning democracy, with a capable opposition party, a United States Senator would not have the privilege or the ability to disappear without a responsible explanation. The worst thing is, nearly everyone thinks it’s ok. “OK” is how we got here, with everything.

He’s always been a very, very small man. #Bevin

The 3 1/2 miles that connect our law school with Louisville’s courthouse keeps shrinking. This Program will bring select students even closer to those courts and trials and litigation all over the country. And - check out these mentors. #AllStars

Two questions: 1. Are you ready for some football? 2. What are we doing?

I’ll stay in the US until I die to fight for it. I’m not afraid of Fascists, or MAGATs, or their private police, or their cowardly politicians and oligarchs. But are we going to have to resist from secure sites in Canada just so we can eat food? #FDA #RFK #recalls

There’s a special place in Hell for GOP legislatures esPECIally in Appalachia who kneecapped everything she wanted to do and all of the people for whom she cared who now performatively “mourn her death and praise her works”. At least there’s a zero chance they’ll run into her in their afterlives.

Always in tune. #dolly #dollyparton

There’s enough money. There is enough food. There is enough room. But instead the most powerful people in the world choose to slaughter and starve children.

Doughnut hamburgers and livestock shows are great and all but have you ever tried living in a city that is complicit in unlawful abductions of innocent people? THAT’S the American Experience man. #armellebondonga

We are all in there. Pawns. Garbage to him, and his people. Bait. Indentured labor to create their wealth. Fooled into fighting amongst ourselves over scraps when we should be fighting them. The Louisville Courier Journal political art.

The City of Louisville is fully on board with #ICE now. It’s a slippery slope with dead bodies, suffering families, and broken promises at the bottom.

“Marc” my legal mentor said on the speakerphone “grab yer Yella Pad and a pen and come on down. We’ve got work to do”. One of our greatest trial lawyers Frank Haddad, Jr. awaited me in his office. It was 1982. 44 years on these Yella Pads await our 1Ls for their first class on Monday morning.

Eons ago dinosaurs died for our oil. Now it’s schoolchildren. Their blood is the red in our flag’s stripes.
