First review in for Curse of Resthaven - and it's lovely! So pleased for the Hilltop team.

Hilltop Studio's Curse of Resthaven is a rich, layered experience, and its timing couldn't be better. It's the best mix of tricks and treats this Halloween season. @playhilltop.bsky.social @digitalbandidos.bsky.social (Code provided) www.the-indie-game-cafe.com/resthaven-re...

Finally watched The Mandalorian & Grogu last night, and now I have the urge to replay Star Wars Outlaws (a short stint running around as Mando in Lego Skywalker Saga didn't cut it). Still a crime that isn't getting a sequel!

Heartbreaking. While I haven't engaged with their games in quite the same way since Mass Effect 3, BioWare is one of those storied developers that genuinely made an impact on this industry and myself (I even started preparing an application to work there once). Really hope the affected get support

Our game launches in eight days with IMPECCABLE AUTUMN VIBES. 🍂 Let's walk. Throw on a sweater, pumpkin spice whatever in hand, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours in those earbuds... ...until you trip over what you thought was a root, but is actually a human bone. The timing really couldn't be better. 😉

Thank you to everyone who's been spreading the word and helping Curse of Resthaven approach this wishlist milestone. Let's see if it can get there before launch next week!

Hilltop Studios@playhilltop.bsky.social

Incredible first day of Next Fest! SO close to a big wishlist milestone, so share Curse of Resthaven with friends who like cool shit. Meanwhile, meet more of Resthaven's fine, upstanding businesspeople. Absolutely no skeletons in their closets. Now, about that kidnapping...

It's fun signing off various PR emails, social posts and other messaging for Curse of Resthaven with 'Good luck, Govenor' (becaus you play the newly-appointed governor of the island) ...but I do worry that, because I'm a Brit, people think it's all Cockney. 'Good luck, guvnah!'

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow” — Melody Beattie In Curse of Resthaven, YOU need to make sense of the past after witnessing death and disaster today (well, day six). Can you even reach tomorrow? #MondayMotivation #CurseOfResthaven

Two amazing reactions from the boy during that film. When Bond gets a phone that controls his car: "I want one" When Stamper gets blown up by a missile: "... Well, he's dead!"

Continuing my Majora's replay. After dealing with the faff of the item-demanding gibdos beneath the well, I'm very much looking forward to the Ocarina remake using the Wild era's inventory-on-a-line system!

Attention, games journalists! I'm currently in the process of sharing review codes for Curse of Resthaven, the game that answers "What if Twin Peaks, Edgar Allen Poe, and Lost had a baby?"

"And what if that baby was actually a game that mashed Monkey Island, Majora's Mask, Potionomics, Loop Hero, Dredge, and others - but wasn't a horrific mess, it just worked? REALLY worked? And what if it was beautifully hand-drawn, and made by just 5 people? How would that go?"

A huge thanks to all who commented (or gave me a polite 'no comment') As you can imagine, it's hard to get people to go on record with stuff like this. Sometimes I wish the industry could be light-hearted enough for companies to say "Aren't Rockstar bastards, eh? They've buggered up November!"

Quick, stop what you're doing and tune into the Cozy After Dark showcase for a fresh look at Curse of Resthaven, narrated by game director Scott Christian of @playhilltop.bsky.social

Cozy After Dark Showcase@cozyafterdarkshow.bsky.social

We have a message from Tizzy! You better listen, because the amount of bribery it took to get him here was ridiculous. We're still negotiating his demands, and frankly, he's getting a little too powerful... 📌 tinyurl.com/CozyDark 📌 tinyurl.com/CADTwitch

To this day, I've still never taken time off work specifically to play a video game - at launch or at any other time. Maybe I should do it for Ocarina...🤔

Cool to be featured in the CBC next to killer narrative games being made by fellow Toronto indies. Our team is 5 people. Not going to make a AAA GTA 6-killer. What we CAN make are specific, personal games. Something I love about indies broadly, and something that 🇨🇦 teams seem to be extra good at.

Thrilled to make my CBC Arts debut by featuring three fabulous games made right here at home! Thank you @playhilltop.bsky.social, @akiiwansurvival.bsky.social, @redshiftpanda.bsky.social, I can't wait to play 🎮

So proud to see Curse of Resthaven in the upcoming Cozy After Dark showcase. It's undeniably horror-themed, but not in a way that'll have you cowering behind your gaming chair (check out the demo and you'll see what we mean!) Can't wait to see the other games on display here!

Hilltop Studios@playhilltop.bsky.social

What even IS cozy horror? There’s definitely a subset of creepy, vibey games that to fall under this tattered, haunted umbrella. So proud that Curse of Resthaven will be part of the inaugural @cozyafterdarkshow.bsky.social. Check out the teaser and mark your calendars for Oct 12!

My son had *finally* stopped playing this game. He was trying new things. Why? Why would you do this to me, Coffee Stain?
