Spencer Jones had a career night with 28 points. Adelman was very complimentary of his effort tonight, despite the loss. "He's one of the few guys I would say competed defensively on the ball, got into people physically. That's what we need more of from the other guys."

Nuggets' Michael Malone on if he thought Jokic looked different tonight and if he benefited from the rest: "I saw a guy that looked rested, looked explosive, and looked as efficient and dominating as ever."

Despite MPJ's shooting slump, Jamal Murray still wants him to keep shooting: "Bro, he's one of the best shooters I've ever seen. If he has an off night every now and then, like as a teammate I'm not thinking 'aw man, I shouldn't give it to him.' If he's open, he's shooting it."

pt. 2 "It's not his fault, it just didn't go down tonight. I'm sure he'll come out next game and, you know, he'll make every shot or something like that. I don't think about him missing or making. I know what he's capable of."

Nuggets' Michael Malone is baffled by some of the contact allowed by offensive players driving to the basket: "If an offensive player just puts his head down and jumps into you over and over again, I don't know how you're supposed to guard that."

pt. 2 "And I'm asking for clarification because I want to be able to help my guys. You know, I want to help Peyton Watson who's trying to do the right thing by taking the hit in the chest and showing his hands. Everything we're telling him to do, and he's still getting a foul call."

pt. 3 "I want to help Peyton Watson when he's guarding a player who jumps A to B into his body and gets two free throws. We have to find a way to be better whether that's continuing to talk to the referees or talking to the league."

My hope is that the Nuggets are just trying to rest Jokic as much as possible on this road trip in preparation for a good playoff run. The more games he misses though, the more uneasy I feel about that theory. 🫠

Nuggets Michael Malone: "I would never say it's a pride thing. Is it disappointing that we're down 3-0 to them? Is it disappointing that they beat us three times on our home court last year in the playoffs? Of course. That stings, that hurts. We got one more crack at em later on this season."
