The history of PHP is long and tied to the history of the entire modern web and we wouldn't be where we are without it and also PHP is much better than it was historically from a security perspective and a lot of infrastructure still depends on it *and also* we would like to pretend it's not there

Phreak: "Alright, what are the three most commonly used private keys?" Joey: "156, 115, 55. But not in that order, necessarily, right?" Cereal: "Yeah but don't forget 4. System operators love to use 4. It's that whole male ego thing."

The worst thing about reading LLM-generated design docs is that I need to look at every single requirement and think "But is this actually a requirement", and the second worst thing is that me being able to smash out a 15 page design doc by hand in a couple of hours is no longer notable

The kind of day where my AirBnB cancelled after check-in time, and then after 4 hours support let me re-book somewhere else that promptly then also cancelled but I do now have a bed in London hurrah hurrah

Spent the day wandering around European airports followed by a weird buzzing noise and finally figured out that something was pressing against my toothbrush's power button and I'm not a victim of Havana Syndrome

The Prague metro has these clocks that zero when a train leaves and then count up. At a guess this is to make headway regulation easier (a train behind a delayed train can wait until there's a reasonable gap before leaving), but anyone know for sure? There's a separate countdown for incoming trains.

Go to a bar with rhum agricole and then have a conversation with the bartender about how great it is and you are basically guaranteed to end up in a fascinating conversation and get to taste some additional weird agricoles
