Advocates need to rediscover that distinction ≠ discrimination. E.g. pretending like “PoC” is one race is more racist to people of color, than recognizing the different axes of discrimination and different cultures between black Americans, US Latinos, and Usonans of south/southeast Asian descent.

For the same reason, pretending that there is only one “trans people” is more transphobic to transsexuals, than recognizing that transsexuals stand to benefit health-wise from medical transition, and as such are harmed by overgeneralizing all trans people as having a transgender identity.

The US separated from the British Empire under the rallying cry of “no taxation without representation”. As a transsexual, I feel that we need to separate ourselves from transgender people, in order to demand “no advocacy without representation”.
